Rotation: What local artists are listening to

This week: Hymn For Her

"We haven't been able to listen to good music for a while because our van's CD/cassette player is broken, so we mostly listen to the tires on the road and the wind whipping by. But this past week, I had an urge to learn ‘Bloody Mary Morning' by Willie Nelson. Just love the words, his incredible guitar playing, his voice. Long ago, I saw the movie Honeysuckle Rose, and Willie's life and music stuck with me through the years. He's one of my favorite tumbleweeds-rolling-down-the-musical-highway artists." -Lucy Tight

"At the moment, all we have is radio in one speaker and there's no escaping ‘Forget You' by Cee Lo. The first time I heard it, it was so fresh compared to today's diva/boy-band radio. It's the kind of song where you hear something new every time." -Wayne Waxing

(Adopted local duo Hymn For Her plays Will's Pub at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15 as part of the Mills-Stock 2011 Southern Fried Sunday show, with Chopper Stepe, Matt Woods and the Bright Light Social Hour. Tickets are $5 and includes a barbecue
dinner while the food lasts.)
