"Aesop Rock easily exemplifies a paragon of metaphor mastery. Since 2007's None Shall Pass, there's no way to belittle this estimation in light of the latest release of his sixth studio album, Skelethon. With his first entirely self-produced album, this linguist lassos listeners with abrupt tact stressed by the distinguished timbre of his voice. Dissecting the vapidity in which people cope with daily issues, standing in the wake of personal loss, Aesop imbues personal empathy into these narratives. The result: a creation that leaves the listener with intimate synchronicity. As of late, I've delegated more time to fine art, compiling a portfolio (http://maz-armageddon.tumblr.com) and taking on commissions. So when I paint, I bump hip-hop to secure an unbridled focus. Smooth rhymes and funky beats are the jewel movements against this artist's grinding gears that churn the machinery of practical perception."
