German power metal legends Helloween haven't survived for 20 years by straying too far from the formula that established them with classic albums like "Keeper of the Seven Keys". Even now, with all the modern touches that adorn "Rabbit Don't Come Easy" -- tightly compressed drum sounds, whiz-bang guitar work -- the bombastic melodicism of the good ol' days is what propels the dozen tracks on this oddly named work. In fact, the group tips a lyrical hat to their stylistic stability with "Never Be a Star," a paean to their status as eternal underdogs. After all, when faced with the choice of playing solid and strong metal and having Avril Lavigne cover your songs on MTV, it's clear that any righteous band would choose the former.
