Every swing kid's collection should include "Juke Joint Jive -- Go Daddy Go," a compilation that includes cuts by some of the swingingest pops of the '30s, '40s and '50s. There's Louis Prima, Fats Domino and, my personal favorite, Cab Calloway, whose "Minnie the Moocher" always delights -- even this recording, which sounds like somebody held a mike in the back of the room, still captures Calloway at his finest.
The best and most danceable track on the CD is Gene Krupa's "Drummin' Man" -- the drum solo in the middle of the song is one of the best I've ever heard. "Juke Joint Jive" is definitely a worthwhile blast from the past.
