Review - In Pod We Trust

Artist: Fluorescent Pea Pod

Fluorescent Pea Pod is no mere radioactive fruit; it is an Orlando-based electronic outfit with a plan to redefine synth-pop as we know it. The group's second full-length release, "In Pod We Trust," is bursting with tunes that makes your toes tap and your ears tingle.

Pod music is a feel-good margarita with a dash of classic '80s sugar, a twist of modern lime and tangy, salt-on-the-rim lead vocals. The lyrics stick with you -- kind of like a hangover, just without the pain. "I know that you could be/ Much more than a friend to me," sings siren Tanya Michelle.

"In Pod We Trust" will not change your life. It doesn't make you search for hidden meanings or make you strain to hear subtle nuances. The offer simply stands to listen and enjoy the Pod's distinctive, daring and highly danceable ear-candy. Each song establishes its own identity, a feat not easily accomplished in the crowded port of techno transit. Cutesy? Yes, but worth the indulgence.
