Review - Guitarded

Artist: Limp

Hailing from Oakland, Calif., Limp -- and its second full-length, "Guitarded" -- sounds nothing like the typical stuff coming out of the San Francisco Bay area. These guys vie for your punk dollar with songs that range from everyday pop-punk to aggressive ska-punk (skunk?). And just when you think you've gotten a handle on the band's sound, they blast you with '80s guitar ("Lost and Found"). The inside of the cover defines "Guitarded" as "Lacking the knowledge or ability to create harmonious or melodic sound patterns." Nothing could be further from the truth.
