They haven't announced any bands yet, but consider us already highly intrigued by today's big announcement of a new camping music festival (a la Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, etc.) debuting in Okeechobee in March. It's called Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, and it sprawls over three days, March 4-6, 2016, featuring more than 80 bands, artists and DJs, at Sunshine Grove.
What we do know:
The music will be drawn across five stages
There will be a lakeside swimming beach bar (only real Floridians understand the possibly limited appeal of this)
They're hosting a "dusk-to-dawn" electronic music stage
They boast artist collaborations unique to the event
It's basically the best time of year in Florida to attempt an event like this, so kudos to the event organizers on nailing down the right time to funnel folks this way. You can sign up for email updates here. Watch the festival's trailer below:
