Orlando culture is still reeling from the closure of the Red Fox Lounge last weekend after more than a half-century in business, and nothing can or will ever fully heal that singular loss. But did you really think that could extinguish the shine of Red Fox star Lorna Lambey, the city’s greatest living lounge icon? Well, it can’t. Before she was ever gone, she’s already back, performing at Rocco’s Italian Grille, just one convenient block down from the Red Fox. Beginning this week, Rocco’s shifts from restaurant hours to bar hours for live entertainment (staying open until midnight Wednesday-Saturday), and the debut weekend kicks off big with Lorna, accompanied by regular Red Fox performer Michael Moore, as Saturday’s marquee act. Other dates are being worked out, but if the shows go well, she could become a regular feature. So stop crying in your highball already, and let’s head out to ensure that this local legend has a new permanent residency.
