Livin' La Diva's local Latin groove

With high-profile Latin popsters Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez getting everyone's attention, other Spanish-language artists are emerging in new genres. Enter Latin hip-hop: a combination of rap beats, Latin music and Spanish lyrics. Orlando's Diva Records, through its Latin division La Diva, is on top of this growing trend with a roster full of up-and-coming local acts ready to conquer the globe.

Showcasing the sound, the label presents "La Diva Latin House Groove" this weekend, starring its artists Full-A-Clips, Jesse James, 40 Montana, La Raza and His Orchestra, plus La Mafia and Triangle -- two of the hottest hip-hoppers in Puerto Rico. Also on the bill is girl-group Sensual. Hosting the event is Tito Puentes Jr., Turbo-B (of Snap fame) and James De La Raza of local station WLAZ-FM (88.7).
