Our hometown re-creation of a European ice bar is pretty accurate, except smaller and a bit gimmicky. There are two parts to the new place: an outer bar (the 'Chill Roomâ?) kept at normal temperature, and the ice bar itself, located in a large walk-in freezer. In there everything is made of ice: couches, ottomans, decorative sculptures, a fireplace, the bar and even the glasses. It's kept at 27 degrees, but don't bother with your winter parka; visitors get a thermal cape and mit-tens to keep warm. The $35 cover charge includes one drink and 45 minutes in the cooler. It's pricey, but considering it's the only permanent ice bar in the country, worth a visit. Call for a reservation.
