Happy Montage of Heck day, plus find out about a 27 Club tribute show in June

In less than two weeks, Kaleigh Baker bends her pipes to evoke the spirit of Janis Joplin as part of Fringe, but if Joplin isn't your favorite member of the infamous 27 Club - an ominous name for a collection of influential musicians whose only necessary common thread is that they died at age 27 - you might want to put another date on your calendar. On June 27, local musicians pay tribute to the 27 Club by faithfully covering their classics and hits (Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones, Amy Winehouse) at Will's Pub. (RSVP!)

27 Club fans can't complain (they're on a plain) especially today, since May 4 marks the HBO debut of official Kurt Cobain doc Montage of Heck at 9 p.m. Even cooler, HBO is offering a free trial of their new online subscription streaming service HBO Now, so even if you don't have that fancy cable service (it's not television), you can still get to Nirvana. Watch the trailer now (I know you've already seen it; I just figure you probably wanna see it again):
