FORM Arcosanti Festival has deep Florida roots

Last weekend's FORM Arcosanti Festival enchanted attendees who ventured out to the "experimental community" in Arizona. The festival hosted artists from Smog to Skrillex in intimate settings at odds with current trends in music festivals. (Is bigger really better?) The New York Times was even effusive with praise.

Look a little closer, though, and despite the nearly cross-country locale, you'll find that familiar Florida hands were busy at work behind the scenes of this event. The festival was organized and curated by native Floridian electro-dreamers Hundred Waters. (Who also performed, naturally.) And if the picture of the stage above seemed familiar, it's because it was custom-constructed by Gainesville's insanely creative Elestial Sound collective just for the event. And Orlandoans-now-relocated-to-Arizona Winter Calkins and Katy Bradford created a Plexiglas and flower art installation that also got a shout-out in the NYT article. Making us proud...
