Matt Pond PA, inexhaustible purveyor of hooky smoothie-pop, hasn’t been a PA resident for quite some time. After moving to New York almost a decade ago (and St. Augustine after that), he could have sliced the initials off that name long ago, but in fact he’s only just getting around to it now (news flash). The question is, will he change it to Matt Pond FL? The actual news flash is the addition of Tierney Tough (the Pauses) on keyboards/backing vocals and Ranson Vorpahl (Mirror Pal) on drums, making the band 50 percent Floridian. Officially, that lineup is just for Matt Pond’s upcoming February/March tour with Jukebox the Ghost, but who knows what could happen? Consider them a loan, not a permanent gift, Mr. Pond. – Jessica Bryce Young
