Enjoy some sweet, smoky BBQ with your sweet, smoky soul at Blues B-Q

The only thing missing from your life is the blues and some extra-saucy BBQ. Get both this afternoon as Betty Wright puts on a performance that you won’t want to miss. Best known for her 1972 hit, “Clean Up Woman,” Wright’s still full of soul and knows how to carry a crowd. She staged a comeback in 2011 with Betty Wright: The Movie, recorded with the Roots, and has been receiving accolades for her live shows ever since. If you dug that recent Stevie Wonder tribute, you don’t want to miss Gerry Williams and his band bringing their sweet, soulful R&B to the stage. Several pork purveyors will be at the Blues B-Q, which means you should get to try some new ’cue – don’t forget to bring your favorite bib and plenty of napkins! – and Pathlight Home, a nonprofit that provides affordable housing to the homeless in Central Florida, will take your unwanted electronics for recycling. All in all, a delicious day.
