With no apparent warning, CRAVE Restaurant near the Mall at Millennia has closed. The restaurant announced their closing last night:

CRAVE Orlando is permanently closed for business.

Thank you to all of our loyal fans and the Orlando community for all of your support. Please visit us in Coral Gables at Village of Merrick Park, or any of our other locations-- http://craveamerica.com/locations/

Sincerely, CRAVE Management

The small chain restaurant gave no indication that a closure was imminent, promoting a Mother's Day brunch on Sunday and CRAVE's "Uncorked Mondays" on their Facebook page.

We reviewed the spot back in 2010 and praised their sushi, saying  the "snapper, tuna, salmon, albacore and escolar were undeniably fresh standouts; eggy tamago had just the right amount of sweetness; and the uni and tobiko offered a nice crackle and pop." The restaurant's other dishes didn't fare quite as well, as we lamented an overdone grouper and ribeye.

No word yet on what will be taking over the space, but as soon as we get wind of it, we'll let you know.
