8 p.m. Wednesday,
The stellar DeLand garage-country-rock band Dish is becoming a solo project. The brotherly duo of Roberto and Nathaniel Aguilar are currently riding great early buzz on their debut album, Ma Raison de Vivre Ton Amour, including a recent positive NPR review, but as soon as it started (if you don't count the last five years of Dish history), it's come to an end. On March 31, in a MySpace blog, Dish announced that Nathaniel is leaving Florida. Roberto will continue to push the album and claims Dish will carry on, but a lot is up in the air. What we do know is that Orlando gets a chance to say a proper goodbye at their CD release party April 15 at the Social. This is what the band has to say:
Roberto here. I wanted to let everyone know what's been going on.
This is pretty hard to accept let alone write in a blog, but here it goes ....
Nathaniel will be leaving Florida and Dish coming May. He's off on another path and as his brother along with you guys, his friends and fans, let's all wish him the best.
We've been doing this for 5 years and have been playing music for more and we've been so blessed to have had such amazing support from everyone … As for Dish, I'm not going to stop playing. You'll be seeing me around plenty. Although nothing will ever replace my brother, I have a few changes that I'm excited about. We love all of you and hope to see you April 15th. It's been a blast playing for you.
Love, Roberto[email protected]
