Band of the Week: Outatime!

Welcome to Orlando Weekly's "Band of the Week." Every week, we highlight one of our favorite local bands. This week, we're pleased to bring you Outatime!

Outatime! is playing April 18 at Soundbar and May 24 at House of Blues.

Just the facts:

When did the band form?
Outatime! formed back in 2014 as a side project by Mike and Justin who were in a different band at the time. Both were heavily influenced by bands like New Found Glory, The Movielife, and I Call Fives and wanted to create a band with a similar style.

Who's in the band?
Mike on vocals, Justin on guitar, James on guitar, Nikk on bass, and Cooper on drums

Describe your sound in five words:
Loud, Energetic, Fun, Memorable

Five questions:

What has been your most memorable show so far?
Our most memorable show has to be our most recent show at Wills Pub with Felicity, Arrows In Action, Brigades, and Calling All Captains. We love playing shows promoted by Marshall Rones and Montgomery Drive.

Which local band is your favorite one to play a show with?
We have a few friends in local bands around so it’s hard to say. We love playing with Broken Streetlights, Rough Start, Bay Street, Beggars, and Mount Kintsugi. Every show we have played with these guys has been a blast.

What description gets used for your band that you would most
like to correct people on? Why?
We’ve never really had a situation like this happen since we have been together!

What’s your favorite thing about being an Orlando band? What's your least favorite? Why?
We love this city! We are all beer and food snobs and this city has no shortage of either. You can catch us before or after shows drinking at the Bear and Peacock Brewstillery or devouring some Gringos Locos, Tako Cheena, Lazy Moon, or any other taco/pizza themed joint. Our least favorite is just parking downtown is always a pain especially with a bunch of music gear.

Any big news to share?
We are getting ready to release our new EP called “Mindset” in the summer! We also have some things we need to keep under wraps for the time being!
