Since 2008, the British American Chamber of Commerce and ORB International, a public relations and multimedia firm, have hosted a traditional British bonfire night in Kissimmee, an evening packed with British fare, games, a gigantic bonfire (complete with burning effigies) and a huge fireworks show. If you've seen V for Vendetta, you know that the Nov. 5 bonfire nights are a huge deal in England. This year's Orlando event happens on Saturday, Nov. 8. So, if you want to "remember, remember the fifth of November" three days late, this is your chance.
In addition to a massive bonfire, the night will feature a Guy competition. No, not Guy Smiley of Sesame Street fame, but a Guy Fawkes (you remember him from his famous gunpowder plot, surely) competition. Basically, you take your old clothes, stuff 'em with paper and present your creation onstage for a chance to win prizes ... and then watch 'em burn in the bonfire. Take a look at some of last year's entries:

The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. and the bonfire is set ablaze at 7:30 p.m. Once the flames are licking, former Epcot favorites Off Kilter take the stage. The night closes out with an epic fireworks show. Throughout the night, British food and drink will be available. Here's a little peek of what you can expect at Saturday's event:
So, grab your chairs and blankets and head on over to Kissimmee on Saturday for an night of British fun. Some proceeds from the event will go to fund Dreamflight, a "charity that changes young lives through taking seriously ill and disabled children, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida."
