The new breakfast menu at
Swine & Sons, next to Cask & Larder on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, might be the best thing that happened to your Saturday morning (
since RavPig opened for brunch, anyway).
From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings, the café and provisions outpost serves a
signature breakfast menu including some killer dishes. (For those of you who can't bear to drag ass out of bed in time to make it, maybe S&S will take a cue from the Coop and stay open a wee bit longer for first meal.)
Our current fave comestible: the biscuit sandwich (shown, right) with house-cured Canadian bacon, egg and cheese, just oozing with sticky-sweet tomato jam. No ketchup is required, but if you want to pump up the flavor, drizzle on a little S&S Hot Honey — there's one at every table. Breakfast tacos filled with queso blanco, Lake Meadows eggs, house-made chorizo and poblano crema will wake your palate.
'80s music oozes from the speakers, but this is no Breakfast Club. There are mimosa and beer specials and Lavazza espresso trickling from the espresso machine, plus free refills on drip coffee for as long as you wanna sit around that comfy corner sofa.
Finish off (or start off!) with an Oatmeal Creme Pie. It has oatmeal in it, after all, which totally qualifies the treat as breakfast food.
