Orlando is getting sweeter by the minute. I told you about Bubbles & Ice on Mills (next to Noodles & Rice) last week, but over in the Milk District, Se7en Bites Bakery in the former Spooky’s Black Cat Café space is making pie-lovers’ dreams come true. In College Park, the Soda Fountain serves up a healthy dose of nostalgia along with a selection of locally made ice cream, sundaes, floats and shakes.
You may have noticed the Gringos Locos mural on the wall of the former Social Chameleon spot on Robinson; the taqueria plans to open their second locale here “within the next two to three months.” And Eagles Pizza plans to move into the space vacated by Gino’s Pizza on the corner of Orange and Central “soon.”
Dragonfly Sushi has released a not-so-secret secret late-night menu “for regulars only.” We’ve been told not to share this with strangers, so, my friends, here’s what you can expect Friday and Saturday nights after 10: steamed buns (beef, pork, chicken, katsu tofu, katsu fish), seven-hour slow-cooked pork shoulder served with lettuce cups, half-price sake bottles, $3 spirits, $6 specialty cocktails and wines.
If you’re up for a Thanksgiving dinner of epic proportions, look to the Brazilians. Texas de Brazil’s Thanksgiving Day feast features the all-you-can eat meats you know and love, plus roasted turkey, sweet potato casserole, house-made gravy, cranberry sauce and pecan pie for $46.99.
