Serious sushi in the fast lane

If you have a serious craving for sushi, but not much time, Sushi Express (47 E. Robinson St., 648-2271) keeps pace with those who move in the fast lane. Located across from the downtown Orlando post office, Sushi Express specializes in quality, short-order sushi.

The food's cheap, too, with packs of eight priced from $3.25 to $6.25. Try the vegetable rolls with white and brown rice, asparagus, carrots, avocado and cucumber. The smoked salmon rolls are downright adventurous, teamed with cream cheese and cucumber, and topped with wasabi. The tofu pockets (five for $3.25), soaked in rice vinegar, then stuffed with sticky rice and crunchy scallions, are sweet and light enough for dessert.

For more time-saving, call ahead or fax (648-5358). Or slow down and savor in the small dine-in cafe.
