The buzz on local food products increases just a bit more today as Orlando-based O'Dang Hummus signs a expanded distribution deal with Publix Supermarkets.

Founder Jesse Wolfe created the product while attending University of Central Florida in 2013. Since O'Dang's humble beginnings in a shared kitchen, Wolfe has seen explosive growth. Even before this week's announcement, the hummus sauce/salad dressing claimed shelf space in some Walmart stores, some Krogers, Roundy's (a 150-store Midwestern grocery chain), and in 400 Publix delis.

In 2015, Wolfe pitched his product to Mark Cuban on ABC TV show Shark Tank, but the interest shown by a couple of "sharks" didn't pan out in the end. O'Dang became part of the Keen Capital portfolio in 2017, an Orlando-based investment fund focused on clean eating brands.

Now O'Dang will be found in all 1,200 Publix stores. That's some pretty tangy news for a local brand! Just more proof that #OrlandoIsDelicious.
