NASCAR Sports Grille has begun its final victory lap after 15 years of tastes and tire changes. Part of the original CityWalk rollout in 1991 1999, the restaurant will pass the checkered flag on Nov. 1 as it makes way for up-and-coming attractions to the complex. The racing-themed restaurant specializing in American-style hamburgers, ribs and sandwiches will continue to serve guests lunch and dinner through that date.

Universal first began revamping the CityWalk complex with the addition of new tastes: Guests can now try new restaurants such as Red Oven Pizza Bakery, Vivo Italian Kitchen, Antojitos (a new Mexican restaurant that recently took over the Latin Quarter space), Hot Dog Hall of Fame, a new larger Starbucks and the Bread Box. A small burger-and-sushi chain, the Cowfish, based out of North Carolina, is also expected to open later this year; construction is underway.

No official word has been released yet as to what venue will replace NASCAR Sports Grille, but word on the street (get it? 'Cause it used to be car-themed?!) is that it will be some kinda NBC sports bar-slash-restaurant, perfect for watching the game on roller-coaster breaks.
