March 7: Welcome to the wonderful world of Wondermade marshmallows

Remember waaaaaay back in 2012 when we interviewed a pack of local up-and-coming artisans? Of course you do. You may even recall that one of our fab four small businesses was Wondermade, the Sanford-based husband-and-wife marshmallow company.

We've written a fair bit about Jenn and Nathan Clark's product since then (especially when fall rolls around and the heavenly bourbon and Guinness flavors come back), but now there's more news. Just part of the continued "cool"-ing of Sanford (see: Shantell's, Rabbitfoot, Wop's Hops), the new Wondermade Cafe is a sort of analogue of Audubon Park's Blue Bird Bake Shop: a tiny, exquisitely designed spot in which to enjoy a tightly edited menu of tastes. Here, it's Wondermade marshmallows – alone, toasted on skewers, squished into s'mores or dunked in a warm cuppa: traditional cocoa or Lineage Roasting coffee.

Even better for serious fans, they're hosting a kitchen tour this weekend:

March 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. you can tour the Wondermade kitchen, enjoy drinks and treats, have a Q&A session with an official marshmallow agent and learn to cut and decorate your very own marshmallows!

Sounds delish! Find tickets here.
