After numerous construction delays, Chronic Tacos has finally opened at the Fountains at Bay Hill plaza on West Sand Lake Road ... Paris Banh Mi Cafe Bakery, specializing in various French cakes and pastries as well as milk tea and the famed Vietnamese sandwich, has opened on East Colonial Drive next door to the Snap Space gallery ... Z Asian Vietnamese Kitchen has opened just a little further down on East Colonial Drive next door to Sus Hi Eatstation ... Look for Foxtail Coffee to open in the Savannah Park complex on International Parkway in Sanford.
CLOSINGS/REMODELS: Pizza Bruno has closed its counter-service operation inside Orange County Brewers downtown ... Super Rico Colombian Bistro has closed briefly in order to undergo renovations and remodeling. Look for them to reopen, bigger and better than ever, some time this month.
EVENTS: Sushi Pop Winter Park celebrates its grand opening Thursday, May 2, with complimentary bubbly on arrival, sushi and drink specials, and plenty of swag. A ribbon-cutting is slated for 6:30 p.m. Chef Chau Trinh will also stage his first omakases May 9 and 10 with seatings at 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Only 16 tickets will be made available for both days, so that's 4 tickets per seating. Cost is $135 ... Rocco's Tacos seventh annual Cinco de Mayo event will see bartop-dancing owner Rocco Mangel make an appearance at the Dr. Phillips restaurant. The fiesta goes from 11 a.m. to 2 in the morning with drink specials, giveaways and free tequila pours from the man himself ... Bagel Bruno, the new concept by Pizza Bruno's Bruno Zacchini, will pop up at Foxtail Coffee in Winter Park May 10. Bagels will be served starting at 7 a.m. ... Shaun Noonan of Dixie Dharma and chef Wendy Lopez of Reyes Mezcaleria will collaborate on a six-course, plant-based dinner with pairings and cocktail reception May 22 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 ... The Daily City is bringing the Indoor Farmers Market for a one-day "test run" June 9 from noon-4 p.m. at Celine Orlando. Scores of vendors from Orlando Meats and Pizza Bruno to Wild Ocean Seafood and the Paleo Bakery will be on hand. The market could return if the test run is successful.
