Downtown's happy-hour scene is about to heat up with Latitudes, a roof-top patio bar opening upstairs from Chillers (35 W. Church St., 649-4270) in late September.
Latitudes will offer views of the downtown skyline along with happy-hour buffets and possibly a menu of signature margaritas, according to manager Patrick Sullivan.
In addition to Latitudes, Chillers is adding a microbrewery on the second level, also scheduled to open by month's end. The Big Belly Brewery will have 17 beers on tap, including several original recipes brewed onsite. Gourmet pizzas will round out the menu.
An elevator inside Chillers' main entrance will connect it with Big Belly Brewery and Latitudes, with separate, outside entrances as well. For its part, Chillers will continue to serve a full line of funky, frozen daiquiris.
