We first reported back in July that the Tavistock Restaurant Collection would be opening a lakeside resto in Lake Nona's Laureate Park. Well, now it has a name – Canvas Restaurant and Market.

The dinner-only joint will mark a return to Central Florida for the Tavistock Restaurant Collection, which previously ran Timpano Chophouse in Dr. Phillips.

Developed in conjunction with Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants (Slate, Prato, Luma on Park), the 278-seat restaurant promises "chef-driven cuisine with a focus on fresh Florida seafood." An exhibition-style kitchen

will open into the main dining room, and floor-to-ceiling windows will offer picturesque waterfront views.

An adjoining market with communal tables will offer freshly prepared breakfast and lunch items from the Canvas kitchen as well as housewares, books, jewelry and furnishings.

Canvas Restaurant and Market is expected to open in January 2016.
