Boyz barbecue a special order

If you hit any of the Citrus Bowl games or regional festivals, you'll likely run into the Bar-B-Q Boyz. Year after year, they've dished truckloads of ribs, chicken and collard greens at the Zora Neale Hurston Festival in Eatonville and Bike Week in Daytona Beach. But the Boyz are increasingly staying closer to Orlando as they step up the catering side of their business.

Office lunches are one of the most frequent requests, and a fully catered lunch of chicken and ribs plus two side items runs for 10 people costs about $100. Co-owner Fred Adams slow-cooks, the way he learned from his parents, until the meat is almost ready to fall off the bone. As for the sauce ingredients, he's more mysterious.

With three days' notice, the Boyz can usually fill most catering orders. Call 466-5363.
