Actively enjoy a meal for a change

The only thing worse than a bad meal is the dreaded Conversational Lull. How many times can you say, "Nice weather, huh?" Really, any talk over dinner that involves politics, allergies or what you ate on dates with others ... well, you might as well stay home with the cats.

Fortunately, Central Florida doesn't lack for places to be entertained while you dine. The epitome of food and distraction might be Tees & Cues in Altamonte Springs (745 Orienta Ave., 407-331-8300). Sure, they have live bands on weekends and tons of sports on TV, but you can get that almost anywhere, and you shouldn't be staring into empty space at some passive excuse for fun. What you want is pool tables and full-size golf simulators! (Cues and tees, get it?) Not to mention a menu that ranges from the "Tiger Woods chicken wrap" to the "par 3" -- a grilled cheddar-on-white sandwich. Yum.

When in doubt, yell, "Fore!"
