4 Rivers Smokehouse will host a fundraiser Sunday, March 4, for those affected by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre.

4 Rivers has a chain-wide policy of being closed on Sundays, but will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the victims.

The fundraiser will be held at their Coral Springs restaurant, which is located at 2660 N. University Drive, less than four miles from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

"The entire 4 Rivers family is deeply saddened by the tragic events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School," John Rivers, 4 Rivers founder and CEO, said in a statement. "Our Coral Springs Smokehouse employs one current student as well as several alumni."

In addition to the Sunday fundraiser, the Coral Springs location will also sell the "Soaring Eagle" sandwich through March, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated.

The sandwich, named after the school's mascot, will have grilled chicken, bacon, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Alabama White Sauce.

Customers will also have the option of "rounding up" their bill, with the difference being donated.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that 4 Rivers has made an exception to be open on a Sunday. The Winter Park location was open a Sunday following the Pulse Nightclub shootings, and they did the same after Kissimmee police officers Matthew Baxter and Richard Howard were killed in August.
