Trash 2 Trends turns one person's garbage into another's high fashion

No, it’s not the Derelicte collection brought to you by Mugatu from Zoolander. Trash 2 Trends may have models wearing literal garbage down the runway, but it isn’t what you think. The annual fundraiser brings the art and sustainability worlds together by inviting artists to create fashion pieces to be worn down the runway, made from items destined for landfills. You’d never know without being told, though. The show was started by Keep Orlando Beautiful, an organization that hosts community clean-ups, plants trees and promotes recycling. There is a cocktail hour with reception-style food prior to the show, along with a cash bar. Make sure to save those plastic cups: They could be used in someone’s outfit next year.
