Today, the sun rose in the east, squirrels scavenged for nuts and the Orlando Eye is closed for maintenance.
On Oct. 16, the 400-foot observation wheel at International Drive stopped turning, and today, Oct. 23, is no different.
Wheel officials sent out this statement regarding the attraction, "The Orlando Eye is currently closed due to required maintenance. We anticipate reopening as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience. Tickets are valid for 30 days from the scheduled visit date."
Since opening on May 4, the tourist wheel has gained a reputation for breaking down. Last May, it broke down
twice in a week and last July, it stranded
66 passengers for three hours with no air conditioning.
Hopefully while it's down they get all the kinks out.
