Star Wars Land to hit Walt Disney World? They didn't pay $4b just to make movies

TheForce.Net, one of the largest Star Wars fan sites on the web, is running with a story that expands on Robert Niles's piece on Theme Park Insider stating that the idea for a Star Wars themed area of the Disney Hollywood Studio in Orlando has moved beyond the "serious consideration" stage and has begun the planning phase.

Beyond the new attractions that look to populate the Echo Lake area of the park, look for renovations on the original Star Tours and a Mos Eisley Cantina themed restaurant to eat at (as long as you're not a droid; they discriminate).

Even if it's in the planning phase now, it'll likely be 2-3 years before anyone puts their ass into a ride.

It'll be a shame if it really takes out the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area though. That was always a favorite of mine going there as a kid. Of course I'm as old a dirt and most of these whippersnappers today probably haven't even seen Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but that's neither here nor there.

Niles also reports about a Cars themeland is in the planning stage too. I can't believe kids love Cars so much and Rick Moranis can't get a job.
