I know what you did over the summer -- that big Europe trip -- and I'll simply die if you drop any more hints about those hunky boys you hooked up with in France and Spain. Have you no shame? Now there are 11 things I hate about you.
More important, have you heard about my wild time during our oh-so-brief break from school? Ohmygod. It was just like a movie.
Well, let me tell you. It was three months of sun and fun and sand and sex with the beautiful people down at the country club. You know who I'm talking about, don't you? You've gotta. I mean, all the guys and girls who belong to the in crowd in Charleston -- the Hummer drivers, the martini drinkers, the serious partying people. Just like that cabana girl Joanne (Kim Murphy) said: "It's a J. Crew catalog."
It was the same old bunch, beginning with that bitchy brunette beauty, Brittany (Susan Ward), who's still stuck on her sister's old boyfriend, Matt (Matthew Settle), the handsome tennis pro. She's still the queen of mean, stuck up but not too haughty to suck up when there's something she really wants.
I swear, the more I looked at Brittany, the more she reminded me of Demi Moore. I don't know. Maybe not. But the more she stared at me, the more I wanted to run and hide. Chills! Whatever happened to her sister, anyway? And what's going on between her and cute Dr. Thompson (Daniel Hugh Kelly), the shrink from the loony bin?
Then there was Bobby (Nathan Bexton), such a funny guy but still the major booze hound, a real master of mixology. Kelly (Laurie Fortier), of course, was back, but she and Brittany must have been having some kind of a tiff: They were pals at first, just like before, but everything changed after Kel's accident on the scooter. She was OK, but that cast on her leg sure looked heavy.
And you should have been there the night little Morgan (Katherine Towne) had to sleep with that guy because her boyfriend (Jay R. Ferguson) was trying to make money in a pool game. He lost, so she had to pay the price. What a creep! Tom (Ethan Erickson) isn't as nice as I thought he was, either.
The best thing about the whole season was the way this new girl, Adrien (Lori Heuring) -- a first-time summer club staffer -- kind of wormed her way into the group. Adrien was, like, sexy and blond, and she had a mysterious past, but Brittany warmed up to her right away. They were hanging out and laughing and doing girly stuff and going to clubs together.
And this happened from Day One. It was unbelievable. I kept wondering when they were going to have a falling out. I mean, you know Brittany, right? Always the drama.
Oh, yeah, there was some weird stuff happening right around the time of the big summer's-end dance. People were making noise out in the woods near the golf course and there was a commotion at the pool. Somebody said they even saw blood. Ewwww!
I just noticed that Brittany is coming over to talk to me about something. I'd like to tell you more about the summer, but I just can't seem to remember all the juicy stuff. There was so much of it! There's no way I'll be able to explain all the cheesy goings-on in this one little note. Maybe Brit will have some ideas.
