Selection Reminder: What You Will: An Evening By and About the Bard!

Wednesday, Feb. 29What You Will: An Evening By and About the Bard

7 p.m.

Lowndes Shakespeare Center

812 E. Rollins St.

Whether you swooned over him as swishy Robin Colcord in reruns of Cheers or dug his poshly accented snark as Lord John Marbury on The West Wing, you won’t be surprised to learn that Roger Rees is a talented Shakespearean actor; all England’s good for these days is churning out boy wizards, BBC drama and brilliant, sensitive, exquisitely educated actors. (BTW, Rees wasn’t in any of the Harry Potter films, but there’s still hope for him to turn up as a louche aristocrat in Downton Abbey.) Rees brings a one-man appreciation of the Bard to the Orlando Shakes’ stage, a mixture of dialogue from the plays, personal anecdote and historical fact in an evening that promises to be edutainment at its finest. – Jessica Bryce Young
