Sunday, Nov. 13Dwight Howard All-Star Game

The last time we checked, there were 10,950 Facebook users who like “Dwight Howard’s Shoulders.” Only about one-fourth as many users endorse the D12 Foundation, Howard’s charitable organization. The disparity is a shame, given that D12, not a deltoid muscle, is bringing an All-Star Game to Orlando, despite the NBA lockout. Howard’s All-Star game will be a competitive 5-on-5 match, though it’ll feature only Orlando Magic players. That includes old timers (Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, reportedly), young bucks (Howard, Chris Duhon, Quentin Richardson, reportedly) and wide disparities in body fat. Also, unlike the money-grubbing ethos of the NBA’s All-Star Game – still scheduled to take place at the Amway Center in February – all of the revenue collected for Howard’s game will go to charity. From the D12 Foundation, we assume, it’ll go to worthy causes, like promotion of education, or better yet, Dwight Howard’s shoulders. – Jeff Gore (6 p.m. at UCF Arena, University of Central Florida; $25-$100; 407-823-6006;
