In the latest issue of Orlando Weekly, I explore in my Live Active Cultures column one of Central Florida's hidden architectural gems. Castle Otttis, located steps from the shoreline in St. Augustine, is an imposing stone castle built by hand as an act of artistic and spiritual devotion. Ordinarily off-limits to outsider, I was allowed in to attend a wedding, and came away impressed by the care and detail invested in this little-known location.
Since my prose can't adequately capture the magic of this place, I'm posting the following photo gallery documenting castle's interior and exterior. Note that I enhanced a few of the shots with the "Camera Awesome" and "Hipstamatic" iPhone apps in order to bring out the enchantment in these images.
