Central Florida’s tourism industry just grabbed another major win last week when Canadian-based attraction design company
Dynamic Attractions announced a new Attractions Development Center for Orlando.
Dynamic Attractions is best known locally for their work on the original Harry Potter attraction and for Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure, but the company has worked on numerous other high-profile attractions at every major Orlando park; Soarin’, Test Track and Revenge of the Mummy are a few of the other local attractions the company has worked on. The company also has a major presence in China.
The new 32,000-square-foot Attractions Development Center will be located in the Horizon Commerce Center near International Drive. The new facility will be the first physical office space in Central Florida for the company.
The new facility will also allow for Dynamic Attractions to offer a brand-new service it’s calling "Unlimited Attractions." This service, which Dynamic Attractions calls an “industry first,” will allow for park operators to turn to Dynamic Attractions as a one-stop shop for all aspects of an attraction, from lighting to story-telling to the ride systems. In the past, Dynamic Attractions has mostly focused on the ride systems while bringing in outside vendors to address the other aspects of the attractions.
An experience studio (similar to the one recently opened across town at
Falcon’s Creative Group) will also be included in the new development center, as will an "Imagination Think Tank" that will help guide potential clients with the initial design of a possible attraction. The new think tank will also be used to help create new media-based interactive attractions that Dynamic Attractions can add to its off-the-shelf offerings.
Dynamic Attractions won the Brass Ring awards for both the Best New Product Concept and the Best Exhibit at the
IAAPA International Attractions Expo that took place last week here in Orlando.
A sales center at the facility may also mean an increase in foreign visitors to the Orlando market. The new direct flights from Dubai are likely to be used by potential clients who are planning to visit the new facility.
The office space is currently being prepped for the new development center with a planned spring 2016 opening.
