National juried art event Nude Nite returns to downtown Orlando

Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 14-16 – Nude Nite

6 p.m.-midnight

639 W. Church St.

Oh, quit your giggling. For centuries, artists have centered their finest works on the sensual, natural beauty of the naked human form. And while yes, you can expect to see a barrage of tasseled ta-tas and stone-hard-etched pieces, the not-so-private parts on display at Nude Nite – styled after everything from Cirque-type harlequins to Vegas-style showgirls – and the artists who present them, do so for the sake of art. The three-day national juried art exhibition takes on a bazaar-like setup: Photography and paintings over here, installation works and sculptural pieces over there, with live body painting and interactive performance art bits speckled in between. DJ music, a cash bar and food available for purchase round out this adult evening (must be 21 to attend). And for your own sake, please remember: This art party might be on the erotic side, but don’t think for a second that very important “look, but don’t touch” rule won’t apply. – Aimee Vitek
