Make Mars our bitch!

You just don't hear that much about eco-terrorism any more. Seemed like growing up, labs of Monsanto monkeys were being sabotaged and the monkeys set loose upon their captors everyday. Now we've got Whale Wars and such that make it into just another job filled with people you don't really want to work with.

On an unrelated topic, the Earth First! Roadshow is coming to town tonight. (Yes, the title of this post was stolen wholly from a King of the Hill quote. Have Mike Judge sue me.)

Here's the basic premise via their press release:

The Earth First! Roadshow will be crossing the country this spring to renew a grassroots ecological direct action movement in the U.S. Time is of the essence for the future of the planet. We are touring with inspirational stories from groups across the country standing up to big business and the fossil fuel industry. We hope to encourage and inspire people to join in creating alternatives and defending our planet!

We have an interactive presentation, slideshow and puppet show to tell the story of Earth First! We are also offering workshops and trainings for safe and strategic direct actions/civil disobedience and making eco-action irresistible!

Also seems to me that PETA already has the model for making direct action irresistable with their whole "naked hot chick in a cage" protests that they do.

Anyway, if you want to go and get your angy hippie on (genuine apologies to angry hippies), it's at the Black Box Collective, 630 W.

Central Blvd., 7 p.m. tonight. Free, but donations (as one might expect) are welcome.
