Disney World has been updating and testing the MyMagic+ program since it was first rolled out. Recently, two major changes happened regarding FastPasses, Disney’s version of a ride reservation system.

FastPasses were rolled out across Walt Disney World more than three years ago. Since then, Magic Kingdom has done an extensive remodeled to the central hub. This hub area in front of Cinderella’s Castle is where the reserved FastPass viewing for the parades and fireworks has been. With the new larger hub, crowds have been able to spread out within the hub area easier than before creating less need for reserved viewing areas for parades and fireworks.

FastPass options for both the Magic Kingdom fireworks and parades have disappeared from the MyMagic+ app. As of right now there are no FastPasses available for parade and fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom has the largest crowds but also the most amount of ride-based attractions, giving guests plenty of other options for where to use their FastPasses.

Until recently the in-park post-third FastPasses had to be made at a kiosk. A recent update to the app now allows guests to make the post-third FastPasses via their smart phone instead.

There’s no word on if these two FastPass changes are related or if firework viewing FastPasses will return during the busiest times of the year. All other special parade and firework viewing opportunities, such as the Wishes Dessert Party, are still being offered with no front of house changes.
