Wednesday, Jan. 16 – Courage, Power, Wisdom: A Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Inspired Art Show

8 p.m.

1205 N. Mills Ave.

So, if you go to BART, the Mills 50 corridor’s bar-arcade-gallery, you probably like to geek out on video games (we’re looking at you, creative director Adam McCabe). And if you like video games, you’ve probably played iconic Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda at some point in your life – it is one of the all-time best-selling Nintendo games, after all – and if you’re a diehard fan, you’ve definitely played Ocarina of Time, the game’s first foray into 3D, released in 1998. It was heralded as the “greatest game of all time” by lots of gamer pubs, which makes it the perfect subject for an art show to adorn the walls of a video-game-inspired bar. Destiny “DEZ” Harding and Dennis Hansbury have created paintings and portraits inspired by Ocarina of Time, and they’ll unveil them at this show. Gamers, this is a don’t-miss – even if you don’t really like Legend (or even if you don’t like the art), you can hang out at BART, play some retro video games, drink craft beer and hang with your video-game-loving kind. – Erin Sullivan
