Jeremy Seghers stages psycho-sexual drama 'Equus' at the Acre
Matthew Mendel
One of the more ambitious shows to hit the Orlando theater scene recently, Equus is the tale of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who is both sexually and religiously obsessed with horses. The 1973 play was written by the late Peter Shaffer; local artist Jeremy Seghers directs this production, which takes over the grounds of the Acre. The green, tree-filled oasis in northern College Park possesses rustic charm and plenty of space for crowds to watch this eccentric tale play out. The horses in the play may not be real, but the ambience might make up for it.
