Here's what's left of Universal's Dragon Challenge coaster

Universal's Dragon Challenge, also known as Dueling Dragons, is now just a heap of scrap metal.

This afternoon, Twitter user @jtamagni1976 posted a photo showing what's left of the coaster, which officially closed back on Sept. 4. It would appear the coaster's final resting place will be this junk yard.

The two-sided vertical coaster made its debut back in 1999 and was a crowd favorite. It was renamed in 2010, and in 2011 the park scrubbed the simultaneous coaster launch after a series of accidents, like when some guy had to have his eye removed.

Universal hasn't released much information on what exactly will replace the ride. However, back in July they did say the new ride will be "highly themed" with "a few surprises."

From Universal:
This all-new thrill ride will take you deeper into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where you will encounter some of your favorite characters and creatures. It’ll be unlike anything we’ve ever done before and it will be fun for the entire family. The new attraction will be one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences we’ve created. It will combine a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure…and a few surprises along the way.
