This isn’t your typical 5K run – by any way, shape or color. It’s dubbed “The Happiest 5K on the Planet,” and the Color Run, a touring paint-meets-perspiration race, stops in Orlando this week. Here’s the catch: Runners of all levels, dressed in all-white garb, take off on a three-mile trek through four “Color Zones” where they are blasted with a powdery paint-like substance – yellow, orange, pink or blue – and then partake in an all-out splatter of a finish-line party. Organizers assure the paint is natural and safe (though they don’t recommend eating it), and for those who grabbed a spot in this sold-out sprint, word to the wise: Color-timid runners should stick to the middle low-color lane, while others seeking a full-on colorblind experience run to the outer edges of the high-color lanes. – Aimee Vitek
