Story time! Art openings may be a dime a dozen in Orlando, but the Culture Pop series at Art & History Museums – Maitland never disappoints. This edition features the new Untold Stories exhibit, which consists of a collection of oil paintings by Trent Tomengo that depict working-class residents of Maitland from the turn of the century, alongside an exhibit of works on loan from Lakeland's Polk Museum of Art that detail personal and historic themes in the African-American narrative. At this opening night party, you can participate in an interactive art activity that mirrors the theme by helping to create a clothesline storyline, incorporating your own untold story into a larger narrative. Plus, the usual accouterments – live music, free appetizers, readings from local writers and a chance to talk to the artists directly – abound.

6:30-9 p.m. Friday, July 15 | Art & History Museums – Maitland, 231 W. Packwood Ave., Maitland | 407-539-2181 | artandhistory.org | $5
