Disney confirmed rumors that the new
Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride coming to Epcot's Future World will indeed be a roller coaster.
The big news was announced at the D23 Expo in Japan, where Disney leaders also confirmed that the new family-friendly attraction will be one of the word's longest enclosed roller coasters.
"As we build upon its core mission of optimism and hope to inspire the world, the real will become fantastic and the fantastic will become real—in whole new ways at Epcot," said Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.
Not a lot of other details were revealed, but the new coaster–which will replace the now closed Universe of Energy attraction–is expected to open by Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary in 2021.
