Trae Crowder is one of our favorite success stories connected to the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival. The Tennessee comic appeared as a young comic in the first two years of the festival, but then his “liberal redneck” videos went viral on Facebook, skyrocketing him to internet fame. Crowder returned to headline the third year of the festival, drawing a huge crowd to Will’s Pub for his hour-plus-long set. Crowder then partnered up with like-minded comics and longtime friends Drew Morgan and Corey Forrester to create WellRED Comedy, touring and even writing a book – The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin’ Dixie Outta the Dark – together. Though the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival seems to be on indefinite hiatus – the unfortunate, but natural consequence of several of its organizers becoming successful enough to leave town – there’s still enough love for Crowder and his crowd in town to make this appearance at the Orlando Improv feel like a homecoming.
