'Hawt & Popular' zine throws a musical release party at Stardust Video & Coffee

Posted By on Wed, May 15, 2019 at 1:39 PM

Hawt and Popular is coming back for a second issue! Thomas Mack’s snarky yet earnest collaborative zine project highlights and celebrates lesser-known music, art and small businesses in the City Beautiful in an effort to, says Mack, combat the idea of a “tourist hub [lacking] any real culture.” If you didn’t make it out to Uncle Lou’s for the first issue’s release show, you missed a lineup featuring X Dirty Fingers, Tam Tam the Sandwich Man & the Magical Sugar Cookies, Sudakas, and the Spoon Dogs (the latter two were featured in the first issue as must-see local bands). The first 20 people to attend Friday’s release show at Stardust Video & Coffee will receive a hard copy of the zine and a chance to see performances by Rocko English, Dearest and Sad Halen. Come by to see what you might be missing in your hometown.

with Rocko English, Dearest, Sad Halen | 9 p.m. Friday, May 17 | Stardust Video & Coffee, 1842 E. Winter Park Road | 407-623-3393 | | $3 suggested donation
