Florida's Democratic candidates for governor will be debating each other in Tampa next month.

Orlando businessman Chris King, former Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine agreed to a televised debate at WTVT-TV Fox 13 studios on April 18.

In a statement, Gillum's communications director said he's called for at least six debates between himself and fellow Democrats since October.

"As the policy differences between the candidates have become clear recently, we know it’s time to take this discussion directly to voters," Geoff Burgan said in a statement. "Floridians deserve to know where we stand on expanding health care to every Floridian, transforming the economy for working people, consistently fighting for gun safety, standing up for public schools, and protecting our environment. We hope our fellow candidates will stop avoiding these debates and give our voters a chance to kick the tires."

Gillum has already participated in at least one debate regarding immigration policies against Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran, a Republican who is rumored to be entering the governor's race.
